About The Therapist - I consider myself to
be a relatively well experienced holistic therapist. During
just over a two year period I have worked with a variety
of clients ranging from young adults to the elderly, presenting
me with a variety of health conditions i.e. general backache,
arthritic conditions to depression and stress complaints.
Lately, I have been treating occupational ailments (i.e.
repetitive strain injury/inappropriate lifting etc). In treating
such clients, I make use of advanced massage, reflexology
and even hot stones in my treatments. I have found here that
using a combination of treatments e.g. using aromatherapy
with hot stones or reflexology with ear candling has produced
more beneficial health outcomes for my clients. Indeed, clients
who have come to me have been very satisfied and happy in
the quality of therapy I have provided for them and have
themselves improved their well-being by following my aftercare
advice, also to help maintain well-being, and coming back
to me for subsequent treatment (if they feel necessary).
More importantly, my clients have benefited in reducing their
need to rely on medication and adopting more active approaches
to their health, for example, using postural exercises/breathing
exercises to help or using blended oils provided by myself
to alleviate e.g. tennis elbow/knee discomfort. Indeed, each
of these cases has been, I am happy to say produces successful
outcomes.
Aside from this, I also, on a monthly basis, use my Swedish
massage and advanced massage techniques on a local swimming
pool team. The aim here is to help swimmers overcome aches,
pains and strains experienced through intensive training
and also to provide swimmers with massage to reduce overall
anxiety and increase performance for subsequent competitions.
During
my two years I have also delved into a number of more specialised
body treatments. My motivations to do so are fuelled not
only by my enthusiasm of holistic therapies, but also in
providing myself with additional specialist skills will enable
me to meet the specific needs of each of my clients. I have
now completed studying for a Sports Therapy Diploma (BSST)
in Bath, and in the next couple of months I have applied
to study Chinese Massage (Tui Na) and Seated Acupressure
in London. Indeed, I believe I have a competent amount of
experience and skills to meet specific client needs, thus
allowing me to provide a positive contribution to the workplace.
